Ruby Dice is an Austin-based Americana artist, bassist, and bandleader whose sound pulls from mountain grit and Texas soul — country, rock, and raw honesty. Originally from Gunnison, Colorado, she has shared the stage with Brian Wilson, recorded with members of Band of Heathens, and become a fixture in the Austin scene. Voted Best Bassist in Austin this year, she fronts her own band while collaborating across the city. Her new album and documentary bring together more than a dozen Austin artists — a love letter to the community that raised her sound. Whether full-band or stripped-down, Ruby Dice makes music for people who want to feel something and move. Today on The Trout Show, we sit down with Ruby Dice.
